Hydra Facials for Aging oily acne prone skin!

Healthy clear skin makes you look fresh, and let’s face it younger!  I have always been told that having oily skin was a good thing to have especially when you get older, because oily skin makes you look a tad bit younger!  Well I want to de-bunk this myth!! At 45 I’m still hit with occasional breakouts and dark spots, I have a healthy diet and recently gave up mostly all dairy.  According to the esthetician my oily skin is congested and I’m so totally over it!  I have tried it all every cleanser you can think of, it seemed as soon as I would wash my face about 1 hour later I would be blotting the oil slick off of my face!  Products that are created for oily skin seem to be the worse, they claim to  remove the oil without stripping the skin of moisture. I still had the same results of blotting the oil off of my face all day with things created for oily skin.  I was pretty faithful to Cetaphil (for oily skin) but overtime I noticed it continued to over-produce oil on my face, so I decided to look for other alternatives. I tried a Glycolic facial wash which was good in the beginning but after a short time it gave me the same results as everything else.  In frustration I decided to have a professional facial from a Dr’s office/ Medical Spa.  I was looking for something to get rid of the bacteria build-up on my face, give me a light peel and deal with my pigmentation, acne and uneven skin.  I was told immediately that dark skin like mine tends to hold a lot of congestion and that my pores and skin needed to be properly cleaned every 6-8 weeks.  The facial I received was called a Hydra Facial, to my amazement my skin was clear, bright and not oily immediately after the facial?  How could this be??  After my facial I was told that I should try a Salicylic cleanser for my oily skin and a medicated spot acne treatment lotion, just to dab on occasional breakouts.  They gave me some samples of Image Skincare Clear Cell and sent me on my way.  My new motto is always try before I buy no matter how good they say it is…. I’m not wasting my money on products until I try it out first!  Well It’s been a couple of weeks and to my pleasant surprise the Salicylic gel cleanser is working great and the medicated acne lotion is NO JOKE !!! That stuff is serious and strong it clears up my breakouts super fast!!  Where has this been all of my life??  I went back to the medical spa to purchase the cleanser and acne treatment, I could not be happier my skin looks clear and it does not get oily 20 minutes after I wash my face. I scheduled my next facial and look forward to keeping up the facials as part of my beauty regime.  The Hydra Facial is pricy at about $90 per facial, it takes about 30 minutes to do and it’s totally relaxing with pain free extractions (if you have any). The Hydra facial is not just for oily skin it’s for all skin types, It is working wonders for me!
