Remember the fun and excitement of the circus when you were a kid?  How about those extremely dusty questionable carnivals that popped into town out of nowhere…with glowing neon lights, and the lingering smell of popcorn and corn dogs perfuming the night air. These pop-up carnivals were always positioned right off the highway, brightly displayed, and meant to be seen. You could always count on the creaky cheap rides, seeing cute boys, the blaring loud rock music, and a creepy guy named Earl who let you go a few extra times on the Tilt-a-whirl! Whatever your memories of the circus are they always seem to invoke a feeling of childhood fun, bold colors and of course cotton candy. This Circus

Monday Motivation!

motovatin scripture springHappy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and a chance to enjoy some early Spring weather! I felt like a weekend warrior this weekend (lol), and tackled my jungle of a backyard on Sunday, and I must say it left me feeling pretty good about getting it done. My #motovationmonday theme for this week is all about getting things done! Do you ever feel like there are things on your to-do list that you want to accomplish, but they always seem to get pushed to the back burner for more pressing matters? Well, I decided this week to really focus on the things that I want to get done, or get back to.  Like getting back to sewing, updating my blog more consistently, leaving myself enough time to  drive comfortably without rushing (I saw a horrible accident right in front of my eyes on the highway this weekend that left me stunned, and shaken), doing more projects around the house( my backyard :), spring cleaning, refreshing, etc.. all of those and plenty more! My point here is that there’s no better feeling than getting things done through, time, effort, and a little self-discipline. The feeling of accomplishment is incredible, and it keeps you motivated to do more. Have a great week everyone, and stay motivated to do all of the things you want to get done! I luvufearlessly!

Old School Fitness Throw back!

jane fondasuzannesomersRemember back in the day when working out was simple? I surely don’t remember my mother running marathons, jogging every day, or doing cross fit with other moms. She was never rigid when it came to food or working out either like today. I mean.. I get it, I’m a mom too, and I understand we have to fight for our time to stay fit and healthy for not only ourselves but for our families too. What I don’t remember was my moms “working out” to be such an event like nowadays. I don’t even remember my mom ever saying things like “I can’t eat that” or “I’ll pass” on the cake and ice cream at a birthday party. I do however remember her getting her workout-on in our living room for like 20 or 30 minutes occasionally but never obsessively, using her old school VHS video tapes. My mom used the classic Jazzercise videos from the 80’s with Jane Fonda and Suzanne Somers, and in the late 80’s she worked-out to Denise Austin who I believe at that time came on Public television. My mom was dedicated to fitness in her own way, and she always had on a cute little leotard with leg warmers to match and her make-up… was beat lol! To this day my mother has never been overweight nor has she had any weight problems that I’m aware of. My mom has always had a nice shapely womans figure, a small waist with thicker hips, thighs and a nice round rump… a.k.a big butt. I wish we could go back to the good ole days when working out was simple, eating was simple, and we didn’t have to think so hard about how to figure all this stuff out!

Tie-Dye and bucket hats have blown-up the Fashion Runways, and is all the rage for Spring 2016. Most of us have some sort of Tie-dye in our closets something not too cute and a bit dated! Bring your style up to date and incorporate the right pieces that flatter you, and your personal style. Although trends come and go, mix it up and make it work for you! Here are a few of my favorite Tie-dye standouts that actually work, or try your own!

#Motivationmonday

gorgeous insideHappy Monday everyone! When I was out for a run the other day I saw this for sale sign in the neighborhood, it made me think am I gorgeous inside? This is what I came up with! #Motivationmonday  I’m no longer willing to sacrifice my body for a cupcake and an extra bag of chips, or for my mind to be used as the devil’s playground, my time to be wasted by others, my spirit to be sucked out of me like a straw, and for my ideas to be disregarded as unimportant or invalid! Today I stand for me and for the God who created and loves me, and wants to know about all things that matter to me! God is the best thing I got going how about you??  To sit back and not rest in that truth and use that power to its fullest capacity would be criminal and dumb. Are you Gorgeous Inside or for Sale to whoever is willing to buy?

Many people love to look at cool spaces but don’t often take a chance when it comes to their own home design. We all love to looky-loo at amazing style, but do you dare take a design approach in your own home or space? I know it can be a bit overwhelming and scary, but starting with something small can inspire a movement getting you to take on more. My new thing is Wallpaper it has made a huge comeback in the past  five years or so and I’m crazy for it. In the past, the problem with wallpaper was the commitment, lack of great choices(grandmas house, sorry gram!)..and what if you HATE it after it’s installed?? Not anymore, now there’s good news for the apartment dwellers, renters, or people like me who like to change things often! Wallpaper no longer has to be this huge undertaking or commitment that locks you in forever, and the options are endless…trendy, fun, and over the top crazy-cool.
